A procedure is presented that allows an engineer to coordinate protective devices consisting of fuses, circuit breakers, and overcurrent relays based upon load and fault currents. The resulting digital-computer programs makes many of the decisions requiring very little prior in-depth knowledge of protective devices and power systems for its utilization. The coordination procedure consists of six separate programs that must run in sequence, as the output from one program forms the input for the next program. This reduces in size of internal computer storage required. The theory is presented with an explanation of each algorithm followed by a basic flow chart. An example computer run is presented at the end. (Author).
