In one's life, a little rain must fall, in Jake MaMann's life, troubles rain down every day. Other people’s troubles are his business. Some seek out his help, others need it. A private investigator for 22 years and before that 20 years with the New Iberia Parish Sheriff’s department he has seen it all. Trouble is old hat, to this aged P.I. at least in New Iberia, Louisiana in 1953. One thing that surprises Jake, of course is the unexpected. But, from past experiences he knows what do about every occurrence. When his day to day journey leads to trouble with really bad guys he calls in old friends in law enforcement. When someone regardless of whom, mess with his brother in law, the gloves come off and all the cards are on the table till the end.
