The Psalms are often viewed as ancient poems with little relevance in today's society. They can be difficult to read, obscure in their imagery, and even cruel and violent in their messages. In this book, the author takes one or more verses from each of the Psalms and relates their sentiments to experiences in our everyday lives. The Psalms are not about some ancient poet in a remote desert nation. The author believes they are about us. This book aims to give readers the chance to confront those evils within their own life and to reflect upon the sacredness of their everyday existence. Capozzi shows the mesage of the Psalms for our ordinary experiences and argues that God is not "out there" somewhere, but right here in everyday life.
