This workbook, submitted by the State of California to the U.S. Department of Education, is for State Grants under Title IX, Part C, Section 9302 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (Public Law 107-110). By January 31, 2003, States must complete and submit to the Department this Consolidated State Application Accountability Workbook. The workbook divides into two parts. Part I, Summary of Required Elements for State Accountability Systems, contains a chart that presents an overview of States' implementation of the critical elements required for approval of their State accountability systems. States must provide detailed implementation information for each of these elements in Part II of this workbook. For each of the elements listed in the chart, States should show the current implementation status in their State by indicating whether the State has a final policy for implementing this element in its accountability system; the State has a proposed policy for implementing this element in its accountability system, but must still receive approval by required entities in the State; or the State is still working on formulating a policy to implement this element in its accountability system. In Part II, State Response and Activities for Meeting State Accountability System Requirements, States are to provide detailed information for each of the critical elements required for State accountability systems. Appended is: Required Data Elements for State Report Card. (Contains 11 footnotes.).
