What starts out as a normal working day on March 3, 2006 in the oil fields of East Texas is quickly transformed into a situation that brings about what many believe is the worst work-related burn injury in history. With burns covering more than ninety-five percent of Jack's once strong, strapping body, his survival and eventual recovery seem impossible. Most people, including the health-care professionals, do not expect him to live. There is nothing for which to look forward but pain, suffering, and an agonizing death. Yet, Jack's loving, determined wife, A'Leta, and their little girl, Carney, support him with unyielding love and faith.
