Bernardo Arriaza and Vivien Standen present the importance of rituals and artificial mummification practices of the Chinchorro people. This ancient culture began mummifying their dead 7000 years ago along the Arica coast, in northern Chile. Sharing scientific knowledge is a fundamental undertaking that significantly contributes to cultural and regional identity. In addition, due to the continuous efforts of these researchers, the Chinchorro Culture has been gaining a significant place in the cultural patrimony of our Universal History.
