The very purpose of writing this book is to give an insight into the journey of entrepreneurship. This journey starts right from the beginning of being an entrepreneur till the end of his life. I being a Management Graduate and an erstwhile entrepreneur inheriting family business found entrepreneurship itself to be strange just as any other profession! Strange in the sense there is no definite path to success. There are no well laid down principles and rules. There is no gateway which opens to success for all hardworking and well qualified persons. Hard work alone cannot guarantee success neither does educational qualifications. Neither both. No MBA course anywhere in the world would guarantee hundred percent success for a venture. It would be baffling to note that why some hardworking and highly intelligent persons, following and conforming to Management books and courses have miserably failed in business. If the question of following management philosophy is the secret to success, why such professors in all Ivy schools of management are not doing business themselves. If what they preach and teach are so important for success in business, why then they themselves could not enter business? If success is guaranteed by adopting or following their teachings and methods, then why students of theirs have failed in business? Why entrepreneurs who had studied in such IVY schools also fail in business in spite of implementing what they had learnt? Why entrepreneurs who had not studied in IVY business schools shine in business. Professors or teachers are equivalent to God say our Vedas. Teaching is a different skill altogether. All cannot teach. It requires divinity. The divine energy required for teaching skills is different from the divine energy for doing business. The energy you require to implement your knowledge is different from the energy you require for its practical successful application. Teachers guide us to follow a correct path. Otherwise the path followed may be a different one and not easy for success. Knowledge received from Professors is divine knowledge. Professors are endowed with the divine energy to teach and guide only. They impart knowledge. One requires a divine energy to teach. But learning alone is not enough to be a successful entrepreneur. If learning is Saraswathi (Goddess of learning) to obtain monetary wealth one should have the divine energies of Lakshmi (the Goddess of wealth). Most of the professors have divine Saraswathi, but the divine energy of Lakshmi may not be present. That is the reason why they may not be in the entrepreneurial field. One can have both Lakshmi and Saraswathi as Nandan Nilekani of Infosys has. For this both the energies have to be present. Most of the entrepreneurs who have made it big in business, like Bill Gates, or Steve Jobs, or Dhirubhai Ambani are school dropouts and how come they had made it big in business? Steve Ballmer and Mukesh Ambani did not complete their Post graduation in Stanford University USA, where they were enrolled. In fact, they discontinued midway. But they are one of the best entrepreneurs of the world. Most of the CEO’s major Corporations throughout the world are ordinary graduates. How come these ordinary graduates have become CEO’s of big corporations when the Ivy League Professors in Management just continue to teach? Success in business does not require Management education, success in sports does not require best health, success in Cinema does not require pristine beauty, success in music does not require good voice, success in politics does not require good oration, or for that matter in any field, skill or hard work alone not enough. No entrepreneur would like his business to die. He would only try his level best before giving it up. The business is his child, his ego, his personality, his standing in the society, his family, his prestige, his will power, his intelligence, his dedication, his loyalty etc. In short everything under the sun would be welcome and accepted by him to make his business a successful one. Therefore, lack of hard work cannot be attributed to an entrepreneur if his business fails. For a researcher or a scholar or a scientist the divine energy of Goddess Saraswathi is a must and not much of Lakshmi is required. But for an entrepreneur it is definite that he should have the divine energy of Lakshmi to be flourishing businessman. If Saraswati is not there it may not affect him much. He can employ persons with divine energies of Saraswathi. But energy of Lakshmi is a must for the entrepreneur. Highly educated entrepreneurs are both successful and unsuccessful and uneducated entrepreneurs are again both successful and unsuccessful. That is, there is no guarantee for success in any way. Success in business is strange. Then what is required? There is something beyond this. The energies that are required are what we have to aim for. Depending on the field we are in we have to aim for that energy. This is what I have made an honest attempt to analyze and have given my findings. I have deliberately titled this book as DIVINE ENTREPRENEUR based on some definite esoteric influences that shapes the success of persons. This influence is required knowingly or unknowingly and for some it is bestowed on them unknowingly and for others they have to invite it knowingly, which is what I had afforded in this book. This book is all about inviting energies of Lakshmi into the body & mind of an entrepreneur for him to be successful. This book is about increasing the potentiality of a person and not just exploiting the existing potentiality in him. I hope the readers would find this book interesting.
