This report accomplishes the following: describes Elliott Jaques' approach to job evaluation; reviews two of Jaques' major works, Measurement of Responsibility and Equitable Payment; reports that Measurement of Responsibility is bas d on Jaques' experience in a London engineering factory, as a member of a research team from the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations; and also reports that Jaques continues the theme of Measurement of Responsibility, in a larger framework and with more detailed definition in his publication, Equitable Payment.
