Fairfield County South

The history of a family has been chronicled from the time of the arrival in Charles Town, South Carolina in 1684 of the progenitor, David Davis from Wales,. By 1794 the fourth generation of Davises had settled in Fairfield County, South Carolina, where Thomas Davis and his sons accumulated slaves and extensive land holdings that, at one time, exceeded more than 3,000 acres.
