Excerpt from Fourth Annual Catalogue of the Agricultural and Mechanical College for the Colored Race, Greensboro, N. C., 1897-'98 The management and control of the College and the care and pre servation oi-all its property is vested in a Board of Trustees, consisting of nine members, one from each Congressional District, who are elected by the General Assembly for a term of six years. The Trustees by the Act of the Legislature have power to prescribe rules for the management and preservation of good order and morals at the College to elect the. President, instructors and as many other Officers and servants as they shall deem necessary hav'e charge of the disbursement of the funds, and have general and entire supervision of the establishment and maintenance of the College. The Board is empowered to receive any donation of property, real or personal, which may be made to the College, and have power to receive from the United States the proportion of funds given to the institutions for agricultural and mechanical training.
