Back cover: "When Frank Cullotta made a deal to become a cooperating government witness in 1982, he was required to tell law enforcement about all of his criminal activities, as well as what he knew about crimes committed by his associates. One of the stories Cullotta related was a 1981 double homicide in McHenry County, Illinois. He named Larry ["Lurch"] Neumann as the killer. For unknown reasons the authorities in McHenry County didn't act on that information and the case went cold. Twenty-seven years after Cullotta first told his story, a former babysitter for Paul Scharff, son of murder victim Ron Scharff, read Cullotta's just-released biography. On page 130 she found his account of the killings. And there began Paul Scharff's renewed pursuit of justice for his father."
