New Paradigms In Inflammation

"Inflammation is one of the most studied yet still poorly understood aspects of the immune response. It plays essential protective roles in both innate and adaptive immunity but, under other circumstances, initiates and maintains responses that are destructive to the host. Central to the regulation of inflammation are cytokines that modulate function of all cells of the immune system. How cytokines shape the immune response is becoming better understood at both the cellular and milecular levels.
