"The purpose of this book is to bring into one volume the various records pertaining to Revolutionary War soldiers and widows of soldiers who have ties to Switzerland County, Indiana. Included are Switzerland County inhabitants who have not previously been identitified as having served in the Revolutionary War. Recognition is given to the widows who settled in Switzerland County after the death of the widow's soldier husband. There are ninety-eight soldiers who lived in Switzerland County, four other soldiers had ties to Switzerland County, and eight men listed in earlier compilations that either did not live in the county or did not serve in the Revolutionary War.
