She’s his best friend’s little sister and therefore off limits. College freshman Finley Farrow has two goals this year: make the football team and get over her crush, Shepard Connelly. The gorgeous football player with his magnificent voice would be a star one day on or off the field, but it’s time to let go. She has a different goal now, the end zone. Making the team may turn out to be easy, but practicing with Shepard every day while ignoring her feelings might be impossible. When she shows up to practice looking like a touchdown in the making it’s certainly the death of him. Shepard hasn’t had it easy like the Farrows. His only ticket to Layton University is football. Yet his passion lies in music. He hides behind killer smiles but pours his truths into his songs. Those about the one girl he can’t have. He’s been sitting on the sideline far too long and maybe it’s time he makes a move. That’s the plan until someone makes accusations that could fumble everything for him.
