The European Consensus On Development Policy

In June 2017 the European Union adopted the new European consensus on development, which establishes a common framework for development policy that will be applied by the EU institutions and the Member States. The EU has long been a leading force in development cooperation. Together with the Member States, it is the world's largest provider of assistance going to developing countries - far ahead of any other donor. The new consensus is part of the EU's response to the 2030 agenda for sustainable development and its sustainable development goals and it affirms our strong commitment to remaining a global leader in development.
