His father was Jo-no-es-sto-wa, Dragon Fly, otherwise known as William Parker, a Tonawanda Seneca Chief, and Elizabeth. Ely married 17 Dec 1867 Minnie Sackett in Washington, D.C. He died in 1895. Includes a history of his ancestors.
