Circulating Nucleic Acids In Plasma Or Serum Ii

The biology and diagnostic applications of circulating nucleic acids have gained research momentum in the last few years before the publication of this study. In particular, tumour-derived DNA in the plasma or serum of cancer patients has shown promise for the diagnosis and monitoring of many types of cancer, and the discovery of foetal DNA in maternal plasma or serum opens up new possibilities for non-invasive prenatal genetic analysis. This volume reviews and summarizes research regarding the origin, release, clearance and possible functionality of circulating nucleic acids, and points toward future developments in the field.
