Hygieia In Classical Greek Art

This study operates on two methodolocical levels. First, a typological classification of the goddess's representations . Second, the symbolic facets and functions of Hygieia - as reveqaled in ther representational, literary and epigraphical traditions. Of special imprortance the relationship between Hygieiea and the other gods and between Hygieiea and her worshippers.
