This report indicates the need for the bank and other donors to cooperate in helping the Pacific Islands find a development path that meets the aspirations of their people for better standards of living while at the same time preserving their unique social and cultural heritage. This report is being made available in order to contribute to discussion and encourage attention to socio-cultural issues affecting development outcomes in the region.
