Lecleux, that when the child is extracted by the feet, and the pelvis very narrow, the lungs are a t to float in water, although the fetus ha not respired, and had died during the birth. This he attributed to the lungs suffering contusion, and extravasation of blood taking place, from which bubbles of gas are disengaged, and the portion of lung consequently becomes specifically lighter.
