In forestry and business management from Southern Illinois Univer sity, Carbondale. He began his Forest Service career in 1964 with the Southern Forest Experiment Station, New Orleans. Before coming to Ogden, he held a staff posi tion at the Forest Service national headquarters in Washington, DC.
